happy 2010!

Wow, 2010?! Has another decade really passed?! Well HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone! Hope everyone enjoyed ringing in the New Year. I know I did :) Hubby had to work, just like every other NYE, so I packed up the kids & stayed with my parents for the evening (4 years and counting). The night consisted of lots of fun ;)

The night started with my brother-in-law cooking up a very yummy steak dinner. A dinner in which we realized that the broiler on my parent’s top of the line, must have Jenn-Air in fact does not work and we had to find alternate ways of cooking the steak. Of course, that was after Lord knows how long of fooling around, reading manuals, and who knows what else. But all in all, it turned out to be absolutely delicious…

After we all stuffed ourselves senseless, we all got into comfy clothes and set out to make our second annual Monkey Bread. Actually, I should say my sister and bro-in-law did, along with the help of Miss A. Ever since she made cookies right before Christmas Em and Ben, she’s been dying to cook with them again. And oh man, was it fun.

I was going to let the kids stay up to ring in the New Year, but after all the food and excitement of playing & cooking with my parents and Em & Ben, they pooped out. Oh, and of course with it being NYE and all, there was plenty of wine and champagne to be had.  My sister picked out a yummy bottle, and I must say it went down quite nice, even after the few glasses of Pinot Grigio I had already consumed. There was also the Monkey bread and Port that we just had to have a sample of before finally rolling ourselves to bed sometime after 2am:D

Overall, it ended up being a wonderful NYE with my family. Tonight we’re going to dinner at my aunt’s house to stuff our faces even more.

Happy 2010!!!
